Memoir’s

You know, this world is a hard place to live in. One reason being is the hurry everything in life tries to put on people. It seems and not only seems, but is true that people in the world today are pressured and pushed into worrying about TOMORROW from every direction. Hurry, hurry, hurry. You need to do this; you need to do that, before TOMORROW gets here. People are always pressured that they need to get things prepared before TOMORROW.  Granted, there is nothing wrong with being diligent and responsible of course, but that’s not what is going on in society. People are running wide open in their lives for the supposed reason of getting or being ahead, or going to make things happen, TOMORROW!  You know how it is, “TOMORROW I’m going to,” or “TOMORROW this or that!” This way of thinking has been indoctrinated into most people’s thinking. If we are honest, we would have to agree that this ideology has affected us in one way or another. Why, I would guess from the time you got out of bed this morning up to right this moment, sometime during that period, you thought about TOMMOROW! Didn’t you? If you didn’t, you are a rare exception to the rule. Now, realizing this, the question is, should we be so full of care about TOMMOROW? Well, going to a reliable and faithful Authority (God’s word); what does He say or command on this matter? Look at this verse. “The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness (having enough); but of every one that is hasty only to want.”(never having enough)Proverbs 21:5 Do you see the difference? Diligence and haste are not the same. Taking care of what you have to, to have enough is not wrong, but living a life of hurry, hurry, hurry never gets you anywhere except more WANT. This “haste” way of thinking has even gotten many to “boast” about their “hurry.” You know, to brag and vaunt one’s self of what they think they are accomplishing or are going to accomplish TOMORROW. “It happens!!!” Have you realized this yet? Has your “hurry” and bragging about TOMORROW really helped you out any? The truth of the matter is that not one of us has any idea of what TOMORROW is going to bring and we really only play on assumptions and predictions that we think or hope will come to pass. NOBODY KNOWS what is going to take place TOMMORROW! NOBODY! This is why the Lord tells us in His word what He does about us thinking and planning and living our lives for TOMORROW, especially “boasting about it”. Jesus Himself spoke on the matter when He was here physically. Look what He said about a man that was “boasting” about having so much stuff that he was going to take it easy for “many years”. Look what the Lord said about his thinking. “But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee; then whose shall those things be, which thou has provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. Luke 12:20-21 You see my friend, “boasting” and bragging about your TOMORROW, and not including the Lord in your thoughts and plans is foolish, to put it nicely. I remember an incident in my life that perfectly focuses on what the Lord is trying to say here. I had gotten a job and along with the job came medical insurance. It was the first time in my working life I had ever actually had it. I know it sounds kind of silly, but I was kind of encouraged by it and was looking forward to seeing my new doctor for the first time to get someone keeping check over my health. At the time, there was nothing really wrong with me, only a few minor issues, but still, just having a new doctor that was going to watch out for me was kind of good to me. Well, I had my first appointment for getting all things going and meeting my new doctor and the day arrived and I went. Everything turned out good with the check in and nurse and then seeing my new doctor. It has been so many years ago I forget his name so we’ll just call him doctor. Doctor was a young fellow that looked like he was in his early thirties; a healthy looking guy and very likable and encouraging to me. The more we talked the more I wanted to talk to him. We went over my health and made a plan to get everything rolling and doctor took all the time with me as if I was his only patient that day. When we were through, I really felt that I was in for a good relationship with the team that was there. We arrange the labs and other things and another follow-up appointment for about a week or more later, and I left. I left there thinking how privileged and fortunate I was to have such a caring health care team and that this was going to turn out to be a good experience for me. The time went by and my day for my follow-up appointment arrived, and I was kind of excited to get to converse with doctor again. I arrived, and went in and approached the check-in. I gave my credentials to the lady as before and announced my appointment with doctor and waited. It was about around this time (if I remember correctly) that something began to become eerie to me. Something was different. It was then, that the nurse relayed to me that I would be seeing another physician today. Upon hearing that, I was disappointed because I was really already comfortable with doctor. I wanted to see him. So I expressed this to her and it was then she sort of privately and quietly told me that, in plain language, he was dead! WHAT!!! Not doctor! He was so young and confident and such a nice person and so much to look forward to. Him and me. What happened!? Then she spoke to me as if she and I were close friends and proceeded to explain to me that sometime about a week or so ago, we found him in his office dead. He had had a severe cerebral hemorrhage and a vein had burst in his head and he had blood coming out of his eye sockets it was so bad. You could tell that it really had affected her. We discussed briefly some more about the time of the incident and I have to say that whole thing shocked me and it became a solid day of remembrance for me in my life. I seen who they asked me too and life went on. But, this thing as others, kind of set a truth in motion in my life that I did not know what it was until later in my life. The truth is, I think, has to do with what we have been talking about all along. “Boasting about TOMORROW!” It was not arrogant boasting but sort of pleasurable boasting for doctor’s future and mine. But one day changed all of that. It changed everything. Wow! This is just an example of many that happen in our lives that prove what the Lords word says is truth. “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Proverbs 27:1 Especially a bragging and boasting sort of heart, kind of like “I don’t care what anybody, even God says, I’m going to, TOMORROW!” Careful, careful with that mouth and heart. We just don’t know, do we? And for this reason friend is why it is so important to include God and His word in your every day affairs in your life. He knows what is TOMORROW! And you need Him. Look what else the Lord say’s. “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Coming to God through Jesus Christ is the way to have God close to you. This is how to start a personal relationship with God, through believing on Jesus Christ and the Gospel of the grace of God. (The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for all men’s sins). Including yours! It is what Jesus said, “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” John 3:7 This happened in my life 44 years ago. The Lord saved me. It is real and since that day, He has never left me. I now know some things about TOMORROW that are backed up by God’s words and will come to pass. I hope you will decide today to accept Christ as your Saviour and secure your TOMORROW. The Scriptures do not speak well of those that reject God’s Son and redemption. I have left you with exactly what was explained to me when I was saved behind the button below. Please read it and be born again today. By the way, thinking back and doing the math somewhat, I think, (not sure) but with all the information available, I think that happened to doctor the day I seen him, after I left. Not sure, but it points that way.  Nevertheless, it happened. The Lord is right! “Don’t boast about TOMORROW!” The Lord bless you and yours. True story. Sincerely, Brother Thurman.

I’d like to tell you a short story of a thing that happened in my life and I probably will never forget it. I (years ago) was in a ministry for troubled men both as a troubled man and later on helping out and eventually overseeing the place. I remember the men I got to know while there for around ten years. You hear a lot of different things from people while in a place like that and some of them scary. I remember this one fellow named Kelly. Kelly was a rough character with a rough back round, but he was a likable fellow once you got to know his ways. One particular day while we were talking, Kelly told me that one time he looked up to Heaven with all seriousness and said to God, “Come on down here God. And I’ll gouge your eyes out!”  Well, I got to say, just hearing those words come out of his mouth frightened me from just hearing them, and for him. He didn’t elaborate on it, he just made it known that he had made that statement to the Lord. I think one thing that frightened me the most (and still does) was that in some strange way, as time went on and being around him, I believe he still meant it, and his offer was still on the table for the Lord to take him up on. I don’t know if Kelly was a saved man or not, but time moved on and all of us men went our ways and some of us stayed in touch. About 12 years or so went by and not long ago another brother named John and I were checking up on one another and he asked me if I had heard about Kelly. I said, “no what about him?” He said “He’s dead, he died!” That set me back for a minute, because I did care about Kelly. He continued to tell me he didn’t know much but that Kelly’s girlfriend wrote him and all she would say was. “Kelly overdosed!” That was very disheartening to me and John because that is not how you want to hear a brother died. We all want every one to finish right. I wanted to know a little more and looked around and found his (Kelly’s) obituary. It said all the usual stuff an obituary say’s except the person that wrote it for Kelly said some things that led me back to the conversation Kelly and I had when he told me how he called the Lord out. They (the person writing) said of Kelly, “He lived life HIS WAY, HIS TERMS, HIS DIRECTION come hell or high water. He was going to do it HIS WAY.” “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12 Well, he did. He did it HIS WAY. Sooo, what? So  nothing! He did it HIS WAY, and died. What a shame. But do you know what went with him? HIS WORDS! “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37 Folks, It does matter what you say and think toward God. What you think and say to God and about God will eventually play out in your life somehow, somewhere. Kelly wanted to gouge God’s eyes out and ended up killing himself. God knows what you think and why you think it. He also knows what you think of Him. Don’t let people lie and deceive you. Your relationship with God has everything to do with how your life is and how it is going to play out. Get yourself and your relationship right with the Lord and your life will make sense. Stop hating and blaming God. God doesn’t want to be your enemy unless you want to be His enemy. He knows everything! By the way! When I read and was reading that obituary of Kelly and the words about him reminding me of him calling the Lord out, right about then, the Lord spoke to me and said, “ son?” I answered, “yes Lord.” He said, “You see, Kelly doesn’t have to wait for me to come down anymore, I decided for him to come up! Gulp! Wow!! Folks, it is very important to keep everything in it’s proper order, ESPECIALLY THE LORD! And, careful with that tongue. Friend, if you need to get your relationship right with the Lord, the words behind that button down below are how God has prescribed to make that happen. The beginning of a relationship with the Lord and being reconciled to Him begins through His Son Jesus and grows from there. Please read the words with sincerity and seriousness, because “time does run out, eternity however does not.” Thank you for reading this and giving your time. True story. Brother Thurman.

I am a Christian Bible Believer. I believe that the Bible is the word of God and is supernatural. It say’s of itself ..which liveth and abideth forever,” meaning, it is alive. 1 Peter 1:23 It also says that the Bible (Scripture) comes from God, All scripture is given by inspiration of God,2 Timothy 3:16 One other thing it says about itself is that it is the Truth,..thy word is truth.” John 17:17 Now having said all this, when I have a question about something, I go to it for an answer about what I am to believe in this life here on earth. I want to share something I know to be true that God has shown us in His word about a very important subject. I have noticed that there are more and more people around, and on media saying that they died and came back into their bodies and came back alive. Some of them tell of meeting God, Jesus, the Devil, and angels and talking with them while out of their body. People are infatuated with this subject. It draws a lot of readers and followers. I have already said that I believe in supernatural things and that life continues after death, and I base this opinion on what God’s word teaches. I believe what I believe is right because, that is what God says about it in His word. So, with this foundation, going back to the one’s that claim to have left their body and came back into it (resurrected.) This is a pretty important thing to be telling people, don’t you think? One common thing they claim is that “they die and come back from the dead.” Does this happen? Is this what the Holy Scriptures say can happen today? According to some “it happens,” but does the Bible back up their claims. Can people die, leave their dead body and return into it, (resurrect)and come back alive in it? Well, to be completely fair concerning the matter, the answer is “yes,” but only with God’s Power and Will. There has only been one human man that died and three days later came back from the dead into the body He died in, and came back to life under His own power. Jesus Christ! Other than Him, no human has the power to resurrect himself from the dead, no matter how fantastic the story. Granted, there have been people in the Bible that have left their bodies and went to heaven by God’s strict command and were returned to their bodies to go on living until their natural deaths occurred. The Lord was showing them things to write about in His word (the Bible.) Also, there are instances of people dying and being prayed for by Prophets and Apostles and God returning them to their bodies. Jesus commanded many back into their bodies from the dead. Other than that, No One leaves their bodies and resurrects in the same body to live again. If a person is saved (Born again) they go directly to be with the Lord in (Heaven) immediately upon death even before their body is buried, and do not return. People (saved) are instructed to be waiting on Jesus Christ’s return and no one has seen Him or will see Him until then. At His return, Jesus has promised to then resurrect the bodies of all people that believed on Him and change them (the bodies) to be “..fashioned like unto His glorious body,..” No one die’s and leaves their body and goes to Heaven, talks to Jesus, and returns to their body and goes on living in that body. Dead bodies return “..to the dust.” According to the word of God this is the way it is (The Truth.)  God never does things against His own word. Concerning Hell? Again, only one man has ever left their body and went to Hell and returned into that body and went on living. Jesus Christ! The Bible strictly teaches that if someone has died in their sins not believing on Jesus Christ, they go directly into Hell immediately stopping off nowhere. Once there, no one returns to their body. They are there to stay. Jesus Christ in Luke 16 tells us that. The word the Scriptures use for both Heaven and Hell is EVERLASTING. Friend, I have left you with what God (the Bible) says about avoiding Hell and how to get to Heaven behind the button down below. Don’t fall for the lies of people leaving their dead bodies and resurrecting and being alive to tell you about it no matter how believable they are. It does not happen according to God’s word. Don’t believe it! Believe God’s word! You should read and prepare before you die, because ONCE GONE, NOBODY COMES BACK! Brother Thurman

ANSWER? Who Knows! It might! There are no guarantees for anybody with this microscopic killer moving about where it wishes. One thing is for sure. None of the 704,753,890 cases and 7,010,681 dead people so far (as of April 2024) wanted to be the ones to cross paths with Corona virus. And for sure no one went out looking for it to challenge it or play as if they were invincible. At least anybody with brains. However the fact, is what the Bible calls “Time and Chance.” This is how things happen to everyone. At the right place at the right time and at the wrong place at the wrong time. Read it yourself. “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11 You know, when you think about it, it is true. Rich people die the same way as poor people and a strong athlete in the best of health can suddenly get a disease that puts them down for the rest of their lives just like unhealthy people. It’s true. There are no guarantees that your not the next one to get Corona-19, or anything else for that matter. We hope not don’t we? But that doesn’t make it any better of a feeling to know that somebody else has gotten it instead of us. Now they, will suffer. Because this is the way things really are. Don’t you think its important to be prepared if you were to have to fight for air, and your life, and LOSE? I wish that nobody had to suffer, but that’s not reality. The truth is, going on 106,890,158 people in the U.S. alone, anything could show up anywhere. Are you ready to die? If you were to have to die soon, are you ready? You can be! I am! Friend, I know that I am going to be with the Lord when I die. I mean it. I know it, and have it in writing, or else God is a LIAR. Let me assure you, He is not a liar. The Lord saved me, while I was in the military serving in Germany almost 44 years ago where a Pastor at a Missionary Church for the military named Rhineland Baptist Church was. I was invited out of the blue. I was not planning any church visit, or even looking for God. He arranged a meeting with me! When I went to that church with the man that invited me, I heard about Jesus Christ and what He did to pay for my sins and forgive me, and give me eternal life. I also heard how the Bible said what a sinner I was, and could not pay my own way, or be good enough to go to Heaven. After the message the Pastor gave an invitation to the congregation, to come to Jesus  and get saved. You know, I went forward as asked and did not understand any of it except there was an invitation, and I wanted to be saved. The Lord did something to me that day. I knew it. I could not explain it, but after 44 years, it  (He) is still there! I’m not trying to convince you to believe this, I’m telling you this is what happened and is still happening. Friend, God and His Son are Real, no matter what others may say. I know what He did for me! Now, I ask you again, “Where you going when you die? You know in your heart you’re going somewhere. The Bible (God’s word) say’s you are. You have a choice to pick where you want to go now, but if you wait and you die before you decide, you will no longer have an option. The Lord has done everything for you. All you have to do is decide, and mind what the Lord say’s. You don’t have to understand. Everything is true that I have said and I have left you with what I was told when I was saved behind that button below. Please take care for your Soul today my friend. Corona virus kills only your body, NOT YOUR SOUL. True story!

Thank you for reading this. You know when I was a boy and would say ~Nobody cares~ I would get told to quit feeling sorry for myself. They were probably right in telling me that. Because people did care at one time. I remember! But society has changed. It’s not the same anymore. Somebody in society today especially the children could say ~Nobody cares~ and be right. Maybe you feel this way. You could be right! Not because of who you are but because, ~Nobody Cares~. That’s why I want to let you know that there is “ONE” THAT CARES and doesn’t lie about it. When I was in the Air Force over in Germany in 1980-81, I was not looking for God. I was living a selfish, wicked , ungodly life. I knew and believed in God but ~Didn’t care~. One day, after I had almost been beat to death by a bunch of Army guys at a bar for mouthing off, with my teeth broken and my eye almost beat out of my head, a man named Tim approached me and asked me to attend church with him. I had never met this guy before, but I was moved to go. So with a black eye and all else, I went. I didn’t know why I was going, I just knew I was supposed to for some reason. We went to Rhineland Baptist Church, where an American Pastor there was ministering to the military. His name was Brother Roy Grigsby who later became my very first Pastor. So, we are there, and I feel as if I am all alone in there with hundreds of people. They were nice people to me, but it was as if I was in a cloud or something when the Pastor was preaching. Because everything he said was true about me, and he was preaching from the Bible. At the end of the sermon I was so convicted over what I was (a sinner) that I knew I needed help. He had spoken about a Savior (Jesus Christ) that died for me so I could be saved, and that He (The Savior) promised if I would believe He died, was buried, and rose again, and be willing to believe His word and confess Him, He would save me. This is what The Bible SAID! I didn’t understand everything but I knew He was right about “ME” and I needed to be saved. An invitation was given and I immediately went forward. When it was over and time to go, I knew something happened to me and I was different. It was real. I knew the Lord had done something (saved me) but that’s all I knew. I didn’t understand any of it, I just believed and trusted Him. It has been 44 years and the change is still there. I still cannot explain it. I have been learning since then and have failed miserably a lot of times, but He is still there and the change is still there. I have not always been faithful to Him but HE HAS BEEN TO ME. He has never let me down even when I deserved it. Yes, my friend, there is “ONE” THAT CARES. He is my Savior Jesus Christ! God is real, so is His Son Jesus Christ! He will do the same for you! Please get saved today, right now! I have left you with the same thing I heard 44 years ago behind the button below. Please read it and accept Him today. By the way, the man that invited me to church, Tim, mysteriously disappeared shortly after that and I never seen him again! An angel? Who knows, but definitely someone who cared! Praise the Lord! True story! Sincerely, Bro. Thurman.
